New Engineering Oppertunitites

I (Jelva Hussan K.S.) and my team was amazed on seeing these two things.
It is awesome and it would create new opportunities for everyone to engineer without the use of softwares or programming. It acts like plug and play , just plug in into aUSB port and use it.

MaKey MaKey
MaKey MaKey is an invention kit for the 21st century. Turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the internet. It's a simple Invention Kit for Beginners and Experts doing art, engineering, and everything in between. The kit will include everything you see above: MaKey MaKey, Alligator Clips, USB Cable.

It  is very easy to use, just plug into a USB port and use it to your use.
Watch the video for a preview.

Raspberry pi

The Raspberry Pi is a low cost, credit-card sized computer that plugs into a computer monitor or TV, and uses a standard keyboard and mouse. It is a capable little device that enables people of all ages to explore computing, and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python. It’s capable of doing everything you’d expect a desktop computer to do, from browsing the internet and playing high-definition video, to making spreadsheets, word-processing, and playing games.

We can also make mini computers out of them.
Watch this video for a preview on how to make a computer.

I hope everyone starts using this.

Ways for students to learn coding

I (Jalib Hassan),was recently awarded a certificate for learning simple coding at code.org .
This site has made it easier for students to learn coding themselves.

This is the certificate I received.

There are many ways to teach students to code. www.code.org is one of them.

A student learning coding.

This video shows the importance of teaching students coding.

Scratch is another way in which one can learn coding. It's similar to code.org.

There are other apps and tools by which one can learn coding or make games themselves:-

Programming, making and creating have never been easier...

My time with Eman Elamin

My  first  tutoring  was with Eman Elamin living in Sudan. She is a global collaborator. Recently, she participated at an Interview. Although I was invited, my Internet failed me and I could not attend it.
This interview was arranged by Steve Sherman of Living Maths.
As I connected with her, she told me about http://www.nmun.org/ where she is to participate shortly!!
I am role-modeling her. Her behaviour is superb.
I taught her to recite a Malayalam poem which she would recite on November  1, Kerala Piravi.
The poem   is about e-Literacy, and why the world must get online.
She  is very much interested and eager in studying Malayalam language
I just spent 30 minutes  with her on Skype.
I was fascinated by the fact that she recited the poem well on the first go.
This experience was a good one
I  thank  Viswa Kala Nikethan, The Elders and Wiki Facilitator Sebastian Panakal for giving me this wonderful opportunity and also I thank Eman Elamin for co- operating with us.

The poem is given below…….

We hope to have her recite this poem from Sudan, online at the Google Hangout we arrange on Kerala Piravi. I will introduce my team of presenters who share their stories at Global Education Conference
